SPRIT empowers women across diverse communities, including tribal women, fisherwomen in Pudukottai district, and single women in Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai district.We introduced savings and credit initiatives through both direct credit assistance and bank-linked credit schemes. Our skill development programs include training in paper cup production, tailoring, wire basket making, and entrepreneurship—enabling women to achieve financial independence and self-reliance.

Since 1998, SPRIT has been actively engaged in the holistic development of 35 tribal hamlets in the Kodaikanal hills. Our initiatives focus on raising awareness about tribal rights, health, and children's education. We facilitated the formation of the Adivasi Federation and the Minor Forest Products Gatherers Association to strengthen community voices and economic resilience. Through consistent advocacy and community engagement, we successfully supported many tribal families in securing land ownership (Patta) and obtaining long-denied community certificates. Our literacy campaigns led to a remarkable 30% increase in children's literacy rates.

As part of our tsunami rehabilitation efforts, SPRIT implemented youth development programs in Kanyakumari and Pudukottai districts. Over 200 young individuals received vocational training in trades such as boat engine mechanics, computer literacy, health nursing, and driving. We also provided educational support to help youth pursue higher education and build sustainable futures.

Following the devastating 2004 tsunami, SPRIT implemented disaster recovery and economic development programs in 15 coastal villages of Pudukottai district. Our initiatives included community education on disaster preparedness and the ecological restoration of 45 acres of mangrove forests in Kattumavadi and Palakodu—enhancing both environmental resilience and livelihoods.

SPRIT delivers comprehensive health programs in rural and tribal regions, focusing on both preventive and curative care. We have conducted extensive HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns in Kodaikanal hills and Thirumangalam Taluk, targeting high-risk groups including sex workers, transport workers, lodge staff, tourist guides, and students.

To combat child labor, SPRIT launched targeted interventions in Virudhunagar district, focusing on children employed in the firecracker industry. We also organized enriching summer camps for tribal children, fostering creativity, learning, and personal growth.
